Our client was an Africa based brewery, which was undergoing a growth phase. Investment had been made into the business to increase production capacity due to market demand. The shareholders were keen to build a best in breed business and a state of the art production plant.
Given the ambitious growth plan and the investors’ targets for ROI, a strong people agenda was required in order to grow the management abilities of the current workforce. Attracting local talent was a priority, together with a development programme for both managerial and technical staff to be ready prior to the start of construction of the new plant.
Ampios worked with the local shareholders and management team as well as the external investors’ team to put in place a performance plan, a recruitment process and leadership and management training programmes, across the whole business, linked to both quantitative financial targets and qualitative staff development objectives.
